A calm, guided studio process — even if you hate being photographed.
Most people don’t walk into a studio feeling confident in front of a camera.
That’s normal. And it’s exactly why the experience is designed the way it is.
This isn’t a rushed shoot or a “figure it out as we go” situation.
It’s a structured, supportive process that removes uncertainty and replaces it with clarity, direction, and ease.
You don’t perform. You don’t guess.
You’re guided — start to finish.
What clients usually worry about (and what actually happens)
“I don’t know how to pose.”
You don’t need to. I direct posture, movement, and expression in real time.
“I feel awkward on camera.”
Almost everyone does at first. That fades quickly once direction begins.
“I want to look like myself.”
That’s the goal. Refinement, not reinvention.
“I’m worried I won’t like the photos.”
You’ll see the images, select your favorites, and receive polished results that still feel real.
The Process
1. Before the shoot
Once you book, you’ll receive clear guidance on:
    •    What to wear (and what to avoid)
    •    How to prepare
    •    What kind of images we’re aiming for
For fashion portrait sessions, this may include a short planning conversation to align on mood, intention, and styling.
2. The studio session
The shoot takes place in my Gastown studio — private, calm, and intentionally minimal so the focus stays on you.
During the session:
    •    I guide posing and expression continuously
    •    We adjust as we go — nothing is rigid or forced
    •    You’re never left wondering what to do next
Whether it’s a headshot or an editorial portrait, the pace is relaxed but purposeful.
3. Image review & selection
After the session, you’ll review your images and select your favorites.
I’m happy to guide you through the selection process if you want a second opinion on what reads strongest — especially helpful for headshots and branding.
4. Retouching & delivery
Final images are professionally retouched with a light, intentional hand:
    •    Skin texture stays natural
    •    Lines and character remain
    •    The result feels polished, not overworked
Your final images are delivered digitally via a private online gallery.
